The framework
What ISO 27001 asks of you.
What it is
ISO/IEC 27001 is the international standard for an information security management system (ISMS). It sets requirements for establishing, running and improving the ISMS, and its Annex A lists reference controls that organizations select through risk assessment and record in a Statement of Applicability. Accredited certification bodies audit organizations against it, and the 2022 edition groups Annex A controls into organizational, people, physical and technological themes.

2Annex A
Technological controls checked against real systems
Connectors to cloud, identity, endpoint and code systems read the state behind many technological controls. The rest stay manual, and their readiness shows as Asserted.
What it does
Shows where each control's status came from: a live check or a person's assertion.
What it never does
Let an exception override an automated status.
3Surveillance audits
Evidence that stays current between audits
Certification is followed by surveillance audits. Evidence freshness is tracked as fresh, stale or cannot verify, so drift shows up before your auditor finds it.
Capabilities
Built for ISO 27001.
ISMS and Annex A
Management system requirements and Annex A controls, mapped to your controls.
Policy approvals
Policies are approved with e-signature and acknowledged by staff, and the record is kept.
Risk register
Record risks with owners and treatment, linked to related controls.
Exceptions with expiry
Every exception has an owner and an expiry date, and it never overrides an automated status.

FAQ
ISO 27001 questions.
Does Venevor include the text of ISO 27001?
No. ISO standards are copyrighted. Venevor's content is its own guidance, and you keep your licensed copy of the standard for the exact wording.
Will Venevor get us certified?
Certification comes from an accredited certification body after its audit. Venevor helps you prepare by tracking the ISMS and Annex A controls, collecting evidence and giving your auditor a dedicated workspace.
Can we reuse our SOC 2 work?
Yes. One check maps to every framework it supports, and the overlap view shows where ISO 27001 and SOC 2 share controls.
Which edition does Venevor cover?
The 2022 edition, including its four Annex A themes.
